About Us
We, David and Jakob, are the founders of Speed Buddies and have been close friends for over 20 years.
Immediately after graduating from school, we wanted to start our first company. However, there were two problems: We had no promising business idea and no start-up capital.
About 15 years later - we are now both proud fathers - we couldn't find any decent bike lights for our children. There were only black and purely functional models on the market - nothing appealing to children.
This realization gave us the idea to develop bicycle lights for children's bikes that are different from all other bike lights and that delight children!
The following two years of development, including the patent application, seemed like a roller coaster ride with all the ups and downs.
Despite initial setbacks, we had our goal clearly in mind and stuck with it. In January 2023 the time had finally come: we were able to test the first prototypes and were at least as excited about our creative bike light as our children were!
At the same time, we were able to win the audio book author Xaver aka Flizzbart for our team. Now there are specially produced bicycle lights and audio book adventures from Speed Buddies!
We look forward to inspiring children and everyone who wants to make cycling even more exciting with creative solutions!
